Injury, the Thunder's second overall pick Chet Holmgren's NBA career may be put on hold. Holmgren may have suffered a torn ligament in his right foot, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

A spokesman for the Oklahoma City Thunder also confirmed to ESPN that the player is currently undergoing further testing to determine when he will return.

"Chett is being evaluated and will be in touch when we update the injury," the spokesperson told ESPN.

The 20-year-old Holmgren is a center with a height of 2.13 meters and a wingspan of 2.29 meters. His potential and talent raised high hopes for him, and he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. However, Holmgren faced setbacks at the beginning of his career.

Sources say Holmgren is suspected of being injured during Jamal Crawford's semi-pro league last Saturday, when the player was defending a fast-break layup from LeBron James due to a slippery field. After limping off the court, it was revealed that he did not sprain his right ankle during the game.

Holmgren's return date is currently undecided, but according to Shams Charania, the player is expected to be out for a longer period of time.
