LONDON - Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has asked Premier League organizers to restore the regulation on substitutions to five times in one game. He wants the 2020 regulations to be applied again at this time.

The Premier League had made five changes during the competition amid the increasing spread of Covid-19 in England last year. However, now the substitutions are back in the format three times.

Now the positive cases of Covid-19 have soared again, so Tuchel admits he is worried that a similar crisis in 2020 will repeat itself. Therefore, he asked the competition organizers to give concessions to the participating clubs.

"For us, it's not the same situation anymore. We have concerns because we are not the only ones who have players and coaches. We are also fathers and have families so it's natural to have doubts and fears," Tuchel said as reported by the Independent, Sunday (26). /12).

He praised the mentality of the Blues players who remained steadfast during the Covid-19 outbreak again, especially at the moment of Boxing Day which has a busy match schedule. In fact, there are seven Chelsea players and staff who are reportedly exposed to the corona virus.

"We think that this team has an epidemic and affects the mentality and must overcome it. We continue to support each other as much as possible," he said.

According to the former Borussia Dortmund coach, the current situation cannot be taken lightly anymore. He asked for firmness from policy makers to protect the health of football people in Queen Elizabeth's country.

"I can only say, under these circumstances I would like to request a substitution of five times to protect the players," he said.
