MANCHESTER--Raphael Varane was officially introduced to the public at Old Trafford before United's opener against Leeds United after a long delay.

The winner of four Champions League titles with Real Madrid will start a new challenge in the Premier League.

Dressed in a black suit, Varan appeared in the middle of a packed Old Trafford stadium for United fans for the first time in more than a year.

Varane unfurled the MU shirt with jersey 19, the jersey that will be worn during the MU uniform.

Varane thanked his new fans for the warm welcome at the introduction.

Manchester United signed Varane from Real Madrid for £42 million. MU's success in getting the French international defender received praise from many parties.

"Hi everyone, I am very happy to be here, thank you for the atmosphere at Old Trafford, thank you very much. I am very happy to be here and I am ready to work hard," Varane wrote in a tweet on his personal twitter, reported by the Mirror, Monday ( 16/8).

The 28-year-old will partner Harry Maguire at centre-back. He is considered the ideal partner for Maguire. During this time, the captain was paired with Victor Lindeof or Eric Bailly. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not satisfied with their cooperation.

Varane is one of the top centre-backs in the world. His partnership with Sergio Ramos brought him many titles at Real Madrid. He won four Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies. He also helped France win the 2018 World Cup title.
