West Ham Vs MU, Moyes Focuses on Restricting Ronaldo's Movement
9/21/2021, 07:34LONDON - West Ham United coach David Moyes will be wary of Cristiano Ronaldo when his team faces Manchester United (MU) in the fifth week of the English Premier League, Sunday (19/9) at 20.00 WIB. West Ham will host Manchester United at the London Stadium.
The former MU tactician acknowledged the quality of Ronaldo as one of the world's top players. According to him, the presence of Ronaldo in the Red Devils' main squad will increase the power of his potential opponent in the match later.
"Ronaldo is a great player and his arrival brings even greater enthusiasm for the Premier League. We will do everything to limit his movement," said Moyes as reported by the club's official website, Sunday (19/9).
Moyes has to rack his brains because the Hammers will certainly be without Michail Antonio, who was suspended for three games due to receiving a red card in the previous game. Whereas if Antonio can appear, Moyes feels more confident West Ham can score goals against the opponent's goal.
"I hope we can turn Michail Antonio into a terrible goalscorer like him (Cristiano Ronaldo). Because Ronaldo managed to start a career as a winger to become a striker," said Moyes.
He hopes the boisterous crowd at the London Stadium can inspire his players to win full points at home. Moyes hopes that the support from the fans will be as crowded as the matches against Leicester City and Crystal Palace.
"We have great support behind this team. I think the fans see the new team which is more interesting. So from there we can see the thunderous atmosphere in the stadium," he said.
